  automatically create a new (empty) Gallery Project using the current default
  settings for all project parameters such as thumbnail sizes, image quality,
  additional HTML code headers and footers etc.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Gallery Projects are used to control these
  parameters, and to provide the user with a means to save these settings to a
  file for reuse at a later time.</FONT>&nbsp; <FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">There
  can be only one Gallery Project active in <I>JPGallery</I> at any one time.<BR>

  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">To start a new Gallery Project, use the <B><I>New</I></B>
  button on the toolbar or the corresponding menu item in the <B><I>File</I></B>
  menu.&nbsp; If <I>JPGallery</I> detects that there is another - already
  modified - Project open at the time you choose to create a new Gallery, it
  will prompt you to ask whether to save any changes you have made.<BR>

  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">You may save a Project using the <B><I>Save</I></B>
  button on the toolbar or by using the according menu item in the <B><I>File</I></B>

  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Note that while saving a Project will store
  all current parameter settings, the actual image files used in the Project
  will only be referenced using their file paths.&nbsp; This means that if you
  move or delete the image files from their previous location, <I>JPGallery</I>
  will not be able to locate them.<BR>

  back into <I>JPGallery</I>, select the <B><I>Open</I></B> button on the
  toolbar or the <B><I>Open Gallery</I></B> item on the <I><B>File</B></I>
  menu.&nbsp; You will then be prompted for the name of the Gallery Project File
  (.GPJ) to be opened.<BR>

  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Once you have added all images and set all
  the parameters you need for your image gallery, you may wish to look at what
  the whole thing looks like in your browser, preferably before you actually
  create or publish the gallery via FTP, since these two actions may be rather
  time consuming, especially if your gallery contains hundreds of pictures.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">To do this, simply click <B><I>View</I></B>
  on the toolbar or by selecting the item <B><I>View Gallery</I></B> from the <B><I>Actions</I></B>
  menu.&nbsp; <I>JPGallery</I> will then temporarily create only the necessary
  HTML files and open a window in your system's preferred web browser to display
  the preview.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">This feature is especially useful if you want
  to experiment with different layouts, image sizes etc. before finishing the
  whole Project.<BR>

  <U>Creating a Gallery on your PC</U></FONT><B><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="4" COLOR="#000080"><U>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</U></FONT></B></I></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Once you are done editing your Gallery
  Project, you may want to create the actual gallery on your PC in HTML/JPG
  format.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">To do this, click the <B><I>Create</I></B>
  button on the toolbar or select the according item in the <B><I>Actions</I></B>
  menu.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">The application will open a file dialog to
  ask you how to name and where to place the gallery's <I>index.html</I>
  file.&nbsp; The path that you specify here is also where all other gallery
  files will be placed.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">During creation of the gallery, the
  application displays a progress information dialog containing a <I><B>Cancel </B></I>button
  that will allow you to stop this process at any time.</FONT></P>

  a Gallery via
  FTP&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</U></I></FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Instead of or in addition to locally creating
  your gallery on your PC, you may choose to publish it on the internet or an
  intranet by transferring all gallery files to a web server of your choice.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">To do this, you can invoke <I>JPGallery</I>'s
  internal FTP client that will automatically perform this task for you, by
  selecting <I><B>Publish</B></I> on the toolbar or <B><I>Publish Gallery</I></B>
  in the <B><I>Actions</I></B> menu.&nbsp; The following dialog will pop up:</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT SIZE="2" FACE="Verdana"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="../graphics/publish.gif" WIDTH="383" HEIGHT="238"></FONT></P>
  <P><FONT SIZE="2" FACE="Verdana">This dialog allows you to maintain several
  socalled <B>server profiles</B> that store the server URL, user name, and
  preferred gallery index file location for each of your servers.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT SIZE="2" FACE="Verdana">For example, you may have an FTP server at
  &quot;ftp.yourname.com&quot; and another one at
  &quot;members.aol.com&quot;.&nbsp; Instead of entering the necessary data each
  time you wish to publish a gallery, simply create a server profile for each of
  them.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT SIZE="2" FACE="Verdana">To add a server profile, click on the <B><I>New</I></B>
  button.&nbsp; <I>JPGallery</I> will prompt you to enter a name for the
  profile.&nbsp; Note that this is <U>not</U> the server's address but merely a
  name that you can freely choose to easily switch between profiles later on.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT SIZE="2" FACE="Verdana">Deleting a profile is straightforward using
  the <B><I>Delete</I></B> button.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT SIZE="2" FACE="Verdana">To set the parameters for a particular
  profile, select it from the box at the top of the window and simply type in
  the <B><I>Server URL</I></B>, <I><B>User Name</B></I>, <B><I>Password</I></B>
  and location of the <B><I>Gallery Index File</I></B> (similar to selecting a
  location for the index file while creating a gallery).</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT SIZE="2" FACE="Verdana">Please note that - for security reasons - <I>JPGallery</I>
  will <U>not</U> save passwords.&nbsp; If you select a profile, the password
  field will be blank, and you will have to enter that password whenever you
  wish to actually publish a gallery.&nbsp; Also note that you cannot explicitly
  specify a proxy server to connect with.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT SIZE="2" FACE="Verdana">To publish the current gallery, click on the <B><I>Publish</I></B>
  button at the bottom of the dialog window.&nbsp; <I>JPGallery</I> will display
  a progress dialog with a <B><I>Cancel</I></B> button that you can click to
  stop the publishing process.&nbsp; In addition to the information that is also
  displayed in the above progress dialog for creation of the gallery, this
  dialog will display all reply messages coming from the FTP server, giving you
  additional information for monitoring the process.</FONT></P>

  makes between the actual gallery that consists of HTML and image files, i.e.
  the gallery that you will subsequently use on your web site, and a Gallery
  Project.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Gallery Projects are files used by <I>JPGallery</I>
  to store settings for a particular gallery, including the names of all images
  that are being used in the gallery, sizes, output quality and arrangement of
  thumbnail pictures, frame layout, additional HTML code fragments etc.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">This concept is particularly useful if you
  wish to apply minor (or even major) changes to a gallery without having to
  create the whole project from scratch.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Gallery Project files use the file name
  extension .GPJ.</FONT></P>
