  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">The core of every Gallery consists of the set
  of images that are to be displayed by it.&nbsp; <I>JPGallery</I> supports only
  images in JPG format.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">To manage the images contained in a Gallery,
  first select the <B><I>Images</I></B> tab.</FONT></P>

  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">This tab contains all information about the
  images contained in the Gallery.&nbsp; It has a list box showing the names of
  all images currently contained in the Gallery, and a small preview window that
  will display the currently selected image in the list.&nbsp; To switch off the
  preview feature, simply uncheck the <B><I>Preview</I></B> check box.</FONT></P>
  <A NAME="ADDREMOVE"></A>
  <P><I><FONT FACE="Verdana" COLOR="#000080" SIZE="4"><U><BR>
  Adding and Removing Images</U></FONT><B><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="4" COLOR="#000080"><U>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</U></FONT></B></I></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Use the <B><I>Add Files...</I></B> button to
  add single or multiple files by selecting their names from a file dialog, or
  select <I><B>Add Folder... </B></I>to add all images contained in a certain
  directory.</FONT></P>

  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">To remove one or more images from the
  Gallery, choose <B><I>Remove</I></B>, or click <B><I>Remove All</I></B> to
  remove all pictures from the Gallery.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Note that, at this point, the image files are
  not addressed directly.&nbsp; Instead, <I>JPGallery</I> only stores references
  to the images.&nbsp; This means that you cannot accidentally delete or tamper
  with any of the files you wish to place in the Gallery.</FONT></P>
  <A NAME="DESCRIPTIONS"></A>
  <P><I><FONT FACE="Verdana" COLOR="#000080" SIZE="4"><U><BR>
  Adding Image Descriptions</U></FONT><B><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="4" COLOR="#000080"><U>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</U></FONT></B></I></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">In order to add descriptions to your Gallery
  images in the form of HTML code fragments that will be displayed whenever the
  image in question is displayed in your browser, you can use the <B><I>Image
  Description Toolbox</I></B>.&nbsp; Note that an image description is much like
  a <I>caption</I>, the difference being that you may freely edit the
  description text, whereas captions are limited to the image title, date and
  size.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2"><B><FONT COLOR="#000080">The Image
  Description Toolbox.&nbsp; </FONT></B>To open the <B><I>Image Description
  Toolbox</I></B>, check the <I><B>View Image Descriptions</B></I>
  checkbox.&nbsp; The Toolbox window will open in front of the <I>JPGallery</I>
  application window, but will not block it.&nbsp; That is, you can keep working
  and modifying settings in the <I>JPGallery</I> window while the Toolbox is
  open.</FONT></P>

  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">The Toolbox will always display the
  description that is attributed to the currently selected image in the images
  list box.&nbsp; Simply type in the text (along with any HTML formatting you
  may wish to add) in the Toolbox window.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Along with the description of the currently
  selected image, the Toolbox allows you to change settings that are global for
  all descriptions, such as placement and alignment, as well as an <I><B>HTML
  Header</B></I> and <B><I>Footer</I></B> that will be placed before and after
  each of the descriptions, respectively.&nbsp; </FONT><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">The
  header/footer feature may be useful if, e.g., you wish to place <B>&lt;FONT&gt;</B>
  tags around the descriptions without having to modify all of these
  descriptions one by one.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2"><B><FONT COLOR="#000080">Clear all
  Descriptions.&nbsp; </FONT></B>To clear (delete) the descriptions of all
  images in the Gallery, click on the <B><I>Clear All Descriptions</I></B>
  button.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2"><B><FONT COLOR="#000080">Loading Image
  Descriptions from File.&nbsp; </FONT></B>Instead of typing in a description
  for each image, one by one, you may also choose to provide a file in text
  format that contains the descriptions for all or a few of the images.&nbsp; To
  load this file, select the <I><B>Load Descriptions</B></I> button.&nbsp; The
  file format is as follows:</FONT></P>

    </B>This section contains HTML code or text that you want to place before
    *every* image description.<BR>

    description.<BR>

    </B>This is the description for the ith image in the gallery.&nbsp;
    &lt;B&gt;HTML-Tags&lt;/B&gt; are allowed too.<BR>
    Carriage Returns will be ignored, just like in HTML.<BR>
    <B>[DESCRIPTION_j]<BR>
    </B>And here goes another description, this time for the jth image.<BR>

  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Note that you <B>must</B> have a separate
  line containing the text <B>[DESCRIPTION_k]</B> for each image that you wish
  to provide a description for, where &quot;k&quot; is the number of the image
  in the image list box (i.e. the list box on the <I><B>Images</B></I>-tab).&nbsp;
  Following that line, you can enter multiple lines of text for that image.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">As shown in the above file fragment, you may
  also (optionally) add a <B>[DESCRIPTION_HEADER]</B> and a <B>[DESCRIPTION_FOOTER]</B>
  section.&nbsp; These sections will be displayed before and after each of the
  image descriptions, respectively, and will be placed into the <I><B>HTML
  Header</B></I> and <B><I>HTML Footer</I></B> fields, respectively.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Note that you do <B>not</B> have to add a
  description for all images.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2" COLOR="#FF0000"><B>Note:&nbsp; You can place
  the image title, file size or file date anywhere in the image description, by
  using the corresponding <I>JPGallery</I>-HTML-Tags that are described in the <A HREF="tab_imagepagehtml.htm#HTML">Image
  Page HTML</A> section of this help document.</B></FONT></P>
  <P><B><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2" COLOR="#FF0000">Important: Image
  descriptions will only be displayed if you select the </FONT><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2"><I>Use
  Image Descriptions</I></FONT><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2" COLOR="#FF0000">
  checkbox in the </FONT><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2"><B><I>Images</I></B></FONT><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2" COLOR="#FF0000">
  tab of the <I>JPGallery</I> main window.<BR>
  </FONT></B></P>
  <A NAME="SORT"></A>
  <P><I><FONT FACE="Verdana" COLOR="#000080" SIZE="4"><U>Sorting Images</U></FONT><B><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="4" COLOR="#000080"><U>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</U></FONT></B></I></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">As long as the <B><I>Unsorted</I></B> button
  in the bottom right corner is selected, you may rearrange the order of images
  within the gallery by dragging-and-dropping single entries in the image list
  using the mouse, or you may move up or down one <B>or more</B> entries at a
  time by using the <B><I>Move Up</I></B> and <B><I>Move Down</I></B> buttons on
  the right.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Selection of multiple entries in the list is
  done just like in Windows Explorer, by holding down the <I>&lt;SHIFT&gt;</I>
  or <I>&lt;CTRL&gt;</I> keys as appropriate and then successively selecting the
  entries.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2"><I>Hint: If you wish to move (single or
  multiple) files up or down <B>quickly</B>, simply hold down the left </I>&lt;ALT&gt;<I>
  key along with the </I>&lt;U&gt;<I> or the </I>&lt;D&gt;<I> key,
  respectively.&nbsp; This will basically have the same effect as clicking the
  corresponding buttons (i.e. </I><B>Move Up</B><I> or </I><B>Move Down</B><I>),
  with the advantage that using the keyboard repeats the command until you
  release the keys.</I></FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">If you wish to sort the list based on the
  image names, file sizes or file dates, you may choose to select one of the
  sort buttons in the bottom right corner of the window.&nbsp; The <I><B>ASC</B></I>
  buttons perform an ascending sort, the <B><I>DESC</I></B> buttons sort in
  reverse (descending) order.&nbsp; Note that you cannot move any image entries
  up or down while the list is in &quot;sorted&quot; mode.</FONT></P>
  <A NAME="RENAME"></A>
  <P><I><FONT FACE="Verdana" COLOR="#000080" SIZE="4"><U><BR>
  Renaming Images</U></FONT><B><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="4" COLOR="#000080"><U>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</U></FONT></B></I></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Sometimes it may be desirable to have all
  images contained in a Gallery named in a consecutive order, i.e.
  &quot;Image01.jpg&quot;, &quot;Image02.jpg&quot;, ...&nbsp; To achieve this,
  select the <I><B>Rename</B></I> button.&nbsp; In the dialog box that will
  appear, enter the file name base you wish to use (in our example, this would
  be &quot;Image&quot;).&nbsp; <I>JPGallery</I> will then give the files an
  index from 1 to n, where n is the number of pictures in the Gallery.</FONT></P>
  <P><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="../graphics/rename.gif" WIDTH="284" HEIGHT="93"></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">Renaming the images in this tab, also, will <B>not</B>
  change the names of the underlying files.&nbsp; All images will be copied into
  the gallery destination directory upon creation and then renamed according to
  your settings, so the gallery will use a set of copies rather than the
  original image files.</FONT></P>
  <A NAME="SUBDIR"></A>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" COLOR="#000080" SIZE="4"><U><I><BR>
  Specifying the Image Sub Directory</I></U></FONT><I><B><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="4" COLOR="#000080"><U>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</U></FONT></B></I></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">To specify the relative path of the image
  files in the gallery, change the entry in the <I><B>Image Sub Folder</B></I>
  field.&nbsp; If, e.g., you create the gallery in a directory named <B>C:\MyGallery</B>,
  and specify <B>Images</B> as the sub directory for images, all your images
  will be stored in <B>C:\MyGallery\Images</B> upon creation of the gallery.</FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2">You may specify sub directories of any depth.</FONT></P>
  <P>&nbsp;</P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2" COLOR="#FF0000"><B>Note A: <I>JPGallery</I>
  does not allow spaces in file names.&nbsp; If you load an image whose file
  name contains spaces, </B><I><B>JPGallery</B></I><B> will replace them with
  underscore characters (&quot;_&quot;).&nbsp; This is done mainly to avoid
  problems with web servers that do not allow spaces in file names.</B></FONT></P>
  <P><FONT FACE="Verdana" SIZE="2" COLOR="#FF0000"><B>Note B: Information about
  the current number of images contained in the Gallery can be obtained from the
  bottom right portion of the application's status bar (right below the
  application's <I>Exit</I> button).&nbsp; This information will be displayed no
  matter what tab you happen to switch to.</B></FONT></P>
