- This index is dynamically read from
the server.
- A perl script on the server reads directory contents and converts
these into a format which all commercial imint.com applets can read.
If the directory contents change tomorrow, the applet menu will change
too without you doing any extra work at all.
- The script not only reads directory contents - it parses the HTML
files for titles and descriptions to use when building the index.
- Optional
file filters can be applied to define types and name-segments of files to
be read. Sub-directories can also be included as "drill-down" links.
- Dynamic index readers of this kind are extremely useful on
servers with a frequent content turnover such as newspapers, e-zines,
or on servers with a very large content.
- This perl script is available with the applet at no extra cost.
