- The "hook" style of displaying multiple submenu levels is
an imint.com innovation. It allows 2 submenu levels (i.e. a total
of 3 hierarchical levels) to be displayed in an unusually
compact horizontal space, and is therefore excellent for keeping
navigation sidebars extremely narrow.
- A tree applet cannot display a menu in such a narrow
space due to the fundamental design difference.
- Normal buttons cannot display such large menus, because
they are usually unsuited to displaying additional submenu levels.
- This demonstration also shows the ability of the menu to wrap
long text entries - this is a further device to save horizontal
space.
- The highlight effect is a moving background cloud (purple)
which changes to green when an item is pressed.
