What's New in V - Version 2000

The main new feature in V2000 is support for viewing ZIP files.

Other new features include:

  - Search/GREP results may now be copied to the clipboard or a file
  - Directory sort option in Directory Options
  - Directory History Size in Directory Options
  - "Hex offset in status bar" option in File Options
  - "Do not center found text" option in File Options
  - /TEXT command line option
  - "Options after file name" added in User Commands
  - File name remembered when "Saving to a File"
  - "Flip Search String" option when searching
  - "Restore original directory after viewing search results" option
  - Refresh Drives command on the View menu
  - Delete Temp Files command on the Tools menu

Service Releases
================

Service Release 2 adds the following features:

  - Unicode Support
  - Much easier method of changing the display font
  - GREP options have been added to search the current file as well as
    re-applying the search to selected files in the Results List
  - The search Cancel box now displays a progress indicator
  - "Display ALL hex codes" option in the File Options
  - If the "Hex offset in status bar" option is enabled, the hex code of
    the selected character is also displayed in the status bar
  - The "Extra Options" dialog box in the User Commands now maintains a
    history of the options
  - A "Create Shortcut" option has been added to the File menu

SR2 also fixes the following bugs:

  - GREP did not always find all the matches in very large files.
    Note that this bug was not fixed properly in SR1
  - The Date Format (MM/DD/YY) was not applied correctly in the Zip View
  - Fixed window positioning problems if the Windows task bar was located
    at the top of the screen
  - User Commands did not work on ZIP file contents while they were
    being viewed
  - When confirming file deletion, "Yes" was sometimes being treated
    as "Yes to All"

Service Release 1 fixed the following problems:

  - V2000 did not always come to the foreground under Windows 98/2000
  - Doing a GREP on very large files did not always find all the matches
  - Added "EBCDIC" to GREP search options
  - Extract options added to ZIP right click menus
  - Flat Text Mode did not always wrap correctly for wrap lengths greater
    than 1024
  - ESCAPE key was not always handled correctly in the Zip View
  - Customized toolbars were not always saved
  - V would sometimes display an error when trying to view a ZIP file.
    Subsequent attempts to view the ZIP file would always work.
  - Embedded ZIP files which did not have a ".zip" extension could not
    be viewed
