ECO KIT SUMMARY:

A dupatch-based, Early Release Patch kit exists for Tru64 UNIX 5.1 that
contains solutions to the following problem:

  CERT security advisory (CA-2002-03) and the Compaq Advisory (SSRT0779U)
  describes a potential security vulnerability, where under certain
  circumstances, SNMP services may stop functioning.

  While there is no known risk of compromising Tru64 UNIX system security
  with SNMP (system instability or unauthorized access), the SNMP agent
  provided with Tru64 UNIX is susceptible to a limited problem -

        4.0G - 5.1A: the SNMP agent may suffer a segmentation fault or
                     generate a core file and exit

  thus denying SNMP service to SNMP-based network management applications.
