Windows NT 3.51 POST-FRS HAL Release Notes:
--------------------------------------
Version: 3.51c
Date: January 14, 1996

Installation:
-------------

Copy files to an MS-DOS formatted floppy.

Have this floppy ready when installing Windows NT 3.51 Server or
Windows NT 3.51 Workstation. The Windows NT 3.51 installation process
will automatically retrieve the AlphaServer 4100 HAL from this floppy.

Problems fixed in release 3.51c:
-------------------------------

* Handle the processor correctable read data error interrupt in order to
  recover from single-bit memory errors.

* Include the release information in the HAL resource file. This information
is obtained by viewing the HAL file properties from WinDisk.

Problems fixed in release 3.51b:
-------------------------------

* When reading a ULONG from memory mapped IO, preserve the sign extension of
the upper four bytes in the return value. Previously, the upper four bytes
were being set to zero. This will fix devices, such as the Digiboard
PC/XEM (CXI01), that poke memory mapped IO for an expected value during
  initialization.

Problems fixed in release 3.51a:
-------------------------------
* An interrupt could be lost due to out of order execution of MEM and IO
space writes during interrupt acknowledge. This would cause WNT to hang.
The problem was fixed by inserting a Memory Barrier instruction between
the MEM and IO write to insure the order of execution.

  12. Press Enter to continue to use the same Digital Alpha Systems
Hardware Support Disk as used in step 6.
