  Can TCP/IP implementations communicate?
 The Question is:

I want to coonect a pc running windows 2000 to an Alpha system running OpenVMS
 AXP V1.5.
Can I use Microsofoft TCP/IP on PC to communicate with DEC UCX on Alpha?
Regards

 The Answer is :

Compaq OpenVMS TCP/IP Services provides a standards-compliant and
interoperable implementation of TCP/IP networking. TCP/IP Services
is also known to successfully communicate with a wide variety of
  other standards-compliant IP implementations.

If you have questions on the standards compliance of another platform,
please contact that vendor for assistance.

Please first move to a supported version of OpenVMS Alpha; V1.5 was
released in 1993, and is no longer supported and no longer being updated.

As of this writing (in August 2001), OpenVMS Alpha V7.3 and TCP/IP
Services V5.1 (formerly known as UCX) are the current product releases.
