CSD update for POST RELEASE DSP Wavetable Sound Card v1.0
=========================================================

This document explains how to obtain and use the patch AMBCSD01.ZIP. This
patch fixes the following problems:

o The patch will improve the performance of King's Quest VII when
switching between applications. It will eliminates MIDI General
   Protection Faults as well.

o The patch also resolves the problem in WIN-OS/2 where repeatedly
stopping and starting a MIDI file caused GPFs.

o The need for renaming the MIDI drivers is no longer neeeded to run
both King's Quest VII and MIDI applications under WIN-OS2.

** Note: In the following procedures the default software directories were
used. If these directories have been changed make the appropriate changes
   to the following installation procedure.

        C:\DSPWTSC Mwave software directory
        C:\WINDOWS Microsoft Windows directory
        C:\OS2 IBM OS/2 directory

1. Call IBM's BBS and download the file AMBCSD01.ZIP
Pkware's PKUNZIP 2.04g will be needed to unzip the compressed file.
This utility is also available on IBM's BBS.

2. Create a temporary subdirectory
        Type "MKDIR C:\TEMP"

3. Unzip the file AMBCSD01.ZIP to the temporary directory.
        Type "PKUNZIP AMBCSD01.ZIP C:\TEMP"

4. Change the current directory to the temporary directory.
        Type "CD C:\TEMP"

The following six files were created:
        MWSYN32H.DRV
        MWSYN24H.DRV
        MWSYN16H.DRV
        MWMIDIP.DRV
        MWAVE.DLL
        MWHLPW16.DLL

7. Copy these files into the current Mwave software directory.
        Type "COPY MWSYN32H.DRV C:\DSPWTSC\MWW\MIDISNTH"
        Type "COPY MWSYN24H.DRV C:\DSPWTSC\MWW\MIDISNTH"
        Type "COPY MWSYN16H.DRV C:\DSPWTSC\MWW\MIDISNTH"
        Type "COPY MWMIDIP.DRV C:\DSPWTSC\MWW\MIDIPORT"

8. Check to see if a C:\DSPWTSC\MWW\DLL directory exists.
        Type "DIR C:\DSPWTSC\MWW"

If a DLL directory exists copy MWAVE.DLL to that directory.
        Type "COPY MWAVE.DLL C:\DSPWTSC\MWW\DLL"

Otherwise copy it to the WINDOWS directory.
        Type "COPY MWAVE.DLL C:\WINDOWS"

9. Copy MWHLPW16.DLL into the WINDOWS directory.
        Type "COPY MWHLPW16.DLL C:\WINDOWS"

If OS/2 2.11 or WARP is NOT installed OR you are not using the Ambassador
Sound Card under Win-OS/2 then the update is complete. Otherwise, continue
with the following procedures.

10. If a C:\DSPWTSC\MWW\DLL directory does not exist copy MWAVE.DLL
    to the WIN-OS/2 directory.
        Type "COPY MWAVE.DLL C:\OS2\MDOS\WINOS2"

11. Copy MWHLPW16.DLL into the WIN-OS/2 directory.
        Type "COPY MWHLPW16.DLL C:\OS2\MDOS\WINOS2"

**Note: If you ever uninstall and then re-install your MWAVE DSP WAVETABLE
SOUND CARD Software, you will need to perform these procedures
        again.
