Arco Product(s):    AC-32VL and AC-32VL+

ENVIRONMENT:        VESA Local Bus

DESCRIPTION: Arco has updated the device driver for the AC-32VL
and AC-32VL+. The enhanced driver offers the user better control
of the operating environment by allowing the input of hard drive
and computer processor information specific to the computer.
AC32VL.SYS is a Beta version, not the final release and we
welcome any comments or suggestions. The final version will come
with an install program that will automatically do the install.

SOLUTION: Copy the driver AC32VL.SYS to the boot directory.
          Make the following addition to the CONFIG.SYS file:
               DEVICE=C:\AC32VL.SYS_/X_(C=Y_D=Y)
          Where X = Processor speed as follows:
               Processor                X =
               80486 DX-16              DX-16
               80486 DX-20              DX-20
               80486 DX-25              DX-25
               80486 DX-33              DX-33
               80486 DX-40              DX-40
               80486 DX-50              DX-50
               80486 DX2-50             DX2-50
               80486 DX2-66             DX2-66

OPTIONAL: The AC32VL.SYS driver will allow you to force the ATA
mode for your drive if your drive will support a higher mode
protocol. To force the mode setting enter the "Y" value for
drive C and/or D as follows:

          Where C and D are your hard file designator and the
          value of Y is as follows:

               0         ATA Mode 0
               1         ATA Mode 1
               2         ATA Mode 2

For the Windows operating environment use the driver AC32VL.386.
     The following changes must be made to the SYSTEM.INI file
     in Windows.

               32BITDISK Access=On
               DEVICE=AC32VL.386
               DEVICE=*INT13

     Remove:   DEVICE=*WDCTRL
