The PartsHouse/WebFrameworks are each a rich set of class libraries, web page templates, security templates, system maintenance and management tools that can be used alone, or combined, to assist an organization in the development of a WWW or Intranet site. The first three products are: the PartsHouse/WebShoppingFramework**, the PartsHouse/WebForumFramework**, and the PartsHouse/WebRobotFramework**. Combining the frameworks with IBM's VisualAge for Smalltalk Web Connection feature forms a robust, object-oriented development environment for WWW site creation and maintenance.
The PartsHouse/WebShoppingFramework enables secure on-line commerce with a complete set of classes and web page templates for displaying catalogs of items, adding items to an online shopping cart, and taking secure orders with credit cards. Other features include: finding a customer's lost shopping cart, customer surveys, coupons, gift certificates, layaways, security, on-line credit card and check verification, and many reports.
PartsHouse/WebForumFramework supports the construction of web sites with multiple chat rooms, multi-threaded message exchange, and file transfer capabilities. The sites this tool creates can be used as a place for customers' to meet and chat or as a vehicle for delivering customer service. Features include search capabilities, multilevel security, numerous reports, and much more.
PartsHouse/WebRobotFramework assists developers in building web pages that include robot, or agent, technology with a set of class libraries and page templates. The applications these pages use will be able to perform functions at other locations on the web or on the Intranet automatically for the user.
