Batch Communications Utility

Batch Communications Utility (BCU) provides an easy way for VisualAge applications using AS/400 servers to send and receive data files to many other systems: AS/400s, IBM mainframes, IBM mini computers and non-IBM systems. BCU supports SNA and BSC protocols.

Easy to use in VisualAge applications...

For visual parts:
Developers add a BCU part from the parts palette to the free form surface in the composition editor for a window and connect to the sendFile or receiveFile actions. The settings window allows easy specification of parameters.

For non visual parts:
Developers create a BCU part from AHBatchCommunicator class, specify the appropriate settings and use sendFile or receiveFile messages in the application.
