Desktop Publishing Quality Documents from VisualAge

DocParts** is a framework for creating desktop publishing quality documents from your VisualAge application. Documents created are ready to be processed by any supported Windows-based package, e.g., Microsoft Word for Windows or by any tag-based document formatters, such as IBM BookMaster.*

Flexibility, Extensibility and Portability

Documents are created by using a well-documented object protocol for specifying various document parts (paragraph, section headings, etc.), and writing the resulting document on a document writer. Visual parts are supplied for you to easily integrate document shell  creation and writing, thus making the rest of scripting easy.

DocParts supports several document elements from which you can compose your document. Examples include: paragraphs, sections, references, index, table of contents, title page, lists of different types and a glossary of terms. More document elements can be added by you.

Proper use of DocParts object protocol ensures that your application can switch freely between various document formatters, listed below, without changing your document specification.
