MAIL CONNECT is a set of Smalltalk classes and parts that mail enable your application. Now you can create applications that send and receive electronic mails within Smalltalk using familiar classes and components. With MAIL CONNECT you have an open road to great new opportunities, taking advantage of all the possibilities of electronic mail.

With MAIL CONNECT you are able to:

• Create applications that notify activities sending mails.
• To read messages from the E-mail system and fire events according to them.
• Send and receive attachments.
• Create workflow applications that use E-mail both as transport and also as a communication channel.
• Take advantage of all the possibilities of interpersonal mail.

Depending on the version of MAIL CONNECT you can exchange mails with multiple messaging systems and APIs such as Simple MAPI, Internet SMTP, MS-Mail, cc: Mail, Lotus Notes, X.400 compatible, Novell MHS, IBM PROFS, AT&T Mail, MCI Mail, and virtually any messaging system or mail enabled application.

MAIL CONNECT is provided to you with full source code, so that you can extend and customize it. As a Smalltalk developer you will enjoy using MAIL CONNECT's object model design and implementation of an electronic messaging system.
