Shared File Server Utilities

The Shared File Server Utility (SHFUTIL) provides a set of useful tools for working with the IBM LANDP Shared File Server Database. IBM LANDP is a distributed Client/Server-enabling application platform. The SHFUTIL can be used on any platform supported by IBM LANDP and IBM Smalltalk.

Tools Supporting Database Development

SHFUTIL provides a Record-Definition Parser, allowing you to automatically attach application-defined record structures to every shared file of the database.

Extensive manual as well as automatic Import & Export Facilities support data conversion to and from ASCII-delimited files, enabling you to migrate data to or from other database systems.

Inserting, updating, and deleting of records in the shared file database and the exported data files is supported. Furthermore Query & Integrity Testing Tools are provided to enhance data integrity control.
