InsureSiteUsing InsureSite, insurance products can be placed in a graphic editor and sold on the Internet using a Web browser. Web browser users can select different elements of an insurance product, such as, the deductible, guaranteed coverages and so forth. Based upon their selections the browser users can have the costs for their combination of insurance elements calculated online. The insurance application, which is then produced, can be transferred to the existing system of the insurance company offering the selected coverages.
The insurance product editor allows quick and easy definition of all product data. The product structure is
graphically shown by means of a whole part structure. The characteristics of each node of the list and
their value ranges can also be captured with these tools. In addition the rules for the possible
combinations and the costs of the insurance products can be set here. From this data the Web browser
interface is automatically generated and no further programming is needed. The products that have been
so defined, can then be transferred immediately into the sales system. In this way insurance products can
be placed in the Internet or the Intranet very quickly and changes to existing insurance products can also
be made quickly and effectively.
One of the main advantages of InsureSite is the seamless integration of the flexible product development tools into the sales system. The integration into existing systems of an insurance company is possible using VisualAge data base or communications interfaces, such as, APPC, TCP/IP, NetBIOS, CPI-C, EHLLAPI, RPC or MQ.
