Dispatch - JavaBeans for Distributed Workflow & Data Distribution
Dispatch is a collection of JavaBeans featuring Data Model,
Distribution, and Access for Distributed Workflow & Data
Distribution.
Dispatch data models conform to Java Collection hierarchy without implementing required interface so it can be used for JDK 1.1 applications, and will be retrofitted to be parts of JDK 1.2 Collections. They extend data containers to function as data carriers and data receivers with multi language support and persistent connectors for moving data around Intranet / Extranet / Internet, from local Operating System files and DBMS. Dispatch data model adds 3 additional mechanisms on top of what will be available in JDK 1.2 collections: a general persistent object container, a structure-data record, and an object table-format database. Record has all functions of a general object container plus features for setting data record to guarantee the integrity of a record data: each record has the same number of fields, and data in each field of all records belong to the same class. DataTable database works with or without a primary key index constructed from one or many fields. Dispatch data models can be multipoint distribution (one to many) and collection (many to one).
Data distribution consists of:
Data access consists of:
Dispatch Standard and Enterprise are now combined into Dispatch 1.1
(compatible with JDK1.1 and 1.2). Dispatch Standard is appropriate for
mobile and stand alone applications, where clients use operating systems
of their choices for working and storage without requiring a database
engine. At client site, applications can be printed via available local
printers and can support multi languages. Dispatch Enterprise makes
applications fully distributed via peer-to-peer and/or client/server
connections, and persistent/resurrected from various industrial strength
DBMS. Dispatch Enterprise takes out the complexities of network and
Internet technologies in application development by providing required
pipelines for interconnections and distributed messaging.
