FTP-PM* Part for VisualAge for Smalltalk

The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) - Presentation Manager part allows you to share, store, and distribute data between your workstation and other hosts on the Internet. You can manipulate the files on another host as if they were on your own machine.

The other host must be running as an FTP server. This component can be embedded in a VisualAge for Smalltalk application or run as a stand-alone application.

FTP-PM Highlights

• Drag and drop files between hosts on the FTP-PM main window. For example, you can drag and drop files from your local workstation directly to a workstation directly displayed in the remote Directories/File list box. Note: You cannot drag and drop files outside of the FTP-PM main window onto the desktop area.
• Use the QuickTrans menu bar option to transfer files between hosts quickly.
• Open connections to multiple remote hosts and between sessions by selecting these options front the Connection pull-down menu.
• Specify a transfer mode (ASCII or Binary) from the Options pull-down menu.
• Record sessions activity for diagnostic purposes by selecting Trace commands/replies from the Options pull-down menu.
• Specify a file filter when listing local or remote host files by completing the Include Files main window field.

FTP-PM requires IBM TCP/IP for OS/2. The IBM VisualAge for Smalltalk Communications Feature is required if this application is embedded in a VisualAge application.
