One class method with two arguments is all it takes to create business graphs such as pie, bar, line, area, candle stick, grouped, stacked, and variations of each. Custom tailoring for colors, styles, and fonts is achieved through instance methods. Graphs can be printed, outputted to metafile or bitmap file.
Built on a Direct manipulation graphical interface framework, this tool is equipped with graphics components that can be assembled together to create larger graphs. In turn, those graphs can be assembled together to create yet more sophisticated graphs, and so on.
Pie Graphs, Text Items, Bar Graphs, company logo(s) , etc. can
be
put together in your chosen arrangement. You control which portion
of the parent graph each subgraph (component) occupies, e.g. Company logo in
upper left corner, a pie graph on left side and a table graph
on right. You specify, in Smalltalk terms, the framing ratio or
framing block for each component. When a graph is resized, each
child component automatically resizes to its relative or fixed
size within its parent's area.
Included, also, a special GraphPane that allows users to display one or more graphs at the same time. This special pane lets you resize or move around each graph individually while maintaining its Z-Order on the screen.
You can expand the tool by creating new components and plug them in. You can use either fixed data, or you give components data models (objects) along with method names to retrieve both data and label strings.
