StaticSQL** for VisualAge and DB2

StaticSQL is a powerful tool for building high-performance VisualAge applications with data access to IBM DB2 databases.

StaticSQL consists of two distinct tools: SQLEngine and StaticSQL Code Builder. SQLEngine provides the protocol to access DB2 via dynamic queries or via static ones with practically the same Smalltalk application code. The static queries are built from the original SQL statements by StaticSQL Code Builder and stored as executable code in the form of Dynamic Link Libraries and DB2 access plans.

The Best of Both Worlds

In StaticSQL, you develop your application's data access component using dynamic queries and then convert the queries into static form to be used in production without changing a line in your application's Smalltalk code. Therefore, StaticSQL offers you the best of both worlds: flexibility and ease of development of dynamic SQL, and enhanced performance and security features of StaticSQL.

Source Included, No Royalties

StaticSQL requires a machine running OS/2 version 2.1 or higher with VisualAge version 2.0 or higher. StaticSQL comes with full source code and tutorial. There are no royalties for distribution of end-user applications.
