Ada 95 Upgrade for VisualAge C++

The Ada 95 Upgrade for VisualAge C++ enables the user to develop software applications by visually connecting software "parts" written in Ada 95 and C++. Ada 95 code is automatically generated for the connections between parts, and new Ada 95 parts can be added to the VisualAge palette. The Ada 95 Upgrade for VisualAge C++ makes the power and features of IBM's award-winning VisualAge product available for Ada 95 developers and users.

The Ada 95 Upgrade for VisualAge C++ supports mixed-language applications using Ada 95 and C++, enabling government and commercial users to take advantage of the features provided by both languages. Object-oriented (OO) applications can be built by assembling and connecting software "parts" contained in the VisualAge palette, and by adding new parts to the inventory. Application development time can be shortened considerably by using and creating reusable parts. All skill levels can be enhanced by using the product: experienced programmers can be much more productive, and unskilled users can create their own applications without having to learn a programming language.

Version 1.0 of The Ada 95 Upgrade for VisualAge C++ will be generally available by December 1, 1996. The first release will be hosted on an Intel-based Windows NT platform, with the GNAT Ada 95 compiler. VisualAge C++ is a prerequisite for running the Ada 95 Upgrade.
