ENVY**/C Development

ENVY/C Development provides tightly coupled support for managing C/C++ source code within the IBM VisualAge Smalltalk Professional development environment. Many large projects require version control for non-Smalltalk components in supporting roles for large Smalltalk systems.

ENVY/C Development provides new facilities to support C and C++ version control.

• Shared repository version management for Smalltalk and C/C++ source code
• Shared repository version management for binary and text build files
• Automatic make file management
• Make utility launching from within the Smalltalk development environment
• Make results and compiler error viewer
• Sender/implementor browsing for C procedures

ENVY/C Development uses the standard ENVY/Developer change management, configuration management, history management and access management facilities. Developers can browse editions, browse senders/implementors, load editions and browse changes of C procedures from within the ENVY/Developer browsers. The make (build process) can be launched from within the ENVY/C Development environment, including browsing compiler errors and make results.
