ENVY/Replicator

ENVY/Replicator is an administrative option for IBM VisualAge Smalltalk Professional that supports distributed project teams using multiple source code repositories. Scalability for large organizations is enhanced through components made available to multiple development groups regardless of repository configuration or geographic location. Components are made available throughout a given development universe with a managed catalog system maintained at each server location.

Administrators set up site-specific publish/subscription rules which control an automatic component distribution process throughout an enterprise. Synchronization is supported for versioned components (cast in concrete) and editions (still open for changes) of components. A snapshot option is provided to replicate open editions until a new version is made available. Minimized change files (deltas) are produced, transferred between sites with customer supplied file transfer facilities and processed on user defined schedules.
