PMSmicado FrameWorks for Object Oriented Application DevelopmentThe PMSmicado FrameWorks provide an easy to use, comprehensive development environment for object oriented application development with Smalltalk. In order to establish an effective development and to automate routine tasks, the FrameWorks provide OO programmers with extended base function to simplify and speed up the analysis, design and construction of mission critical applications. The FrameWorks are the result of five years of project development with several Smalltalk languages.
The FrameWorks consist of three components: the Object Behavior
FrameWork, the Object Persistence FrameWork, and the Application
FrameWork. The Object Behavior FrameWork enables referential integrity
by introducing Typing and Relationships in an object oriented
development environment.
The Object Persistence FrameWork allows object oriented applications to be developed independent of the data base technology. The independence allows for scalability from laptop to host, across data base vendors, and parallel use and integration of legacy applications.
The Application FrameWork provides an easy-to-use environment for the application developer. Programming and assembly are enhanced by the unified and integrated presentation of all of the technical components needed. The Application FrameWork also validates feasibility and facilitates the versioning required for the flexible, interactive expansion of function in Rapid Application Development (RAD) project cycles. The extensions for the base Smalltalk are: Extended MVC, Base Models, Business Models, Delegation Models and an abstract Presentation Model.
The micEngineer as an add-on is designed to be a graphical development tool, which organizes and represents all aspects of the application development cycle (Analysis, Design, Implementation, Test). The basis of the micEngineer is set by an extendible Component Framework that can be configured for every method and notation (Wirfs-Brook, Booch, Rumbaugh, Unified... ) which is needed and/or used in the project.
