JWidgets at a Glance

The JWidgets library of classes takes advantage of the features in JDK 1.1 such as object serialization, the delegation event model, internationalization, customizers, and custom property editors. Why take the time to create each of these widgets by hand? We've built them for you, and tested them to make sure they're iron-clad.

Each widget is a JavaBeans component; you can use them in a Beans builder, or use them programmatically. Either way, you get a rich feature set and more ease of use than ever. Plus, we've built in flexibility: widgets that map data use an abstract data model. This gives you the option of using the concrete implementations provided, or deriving your own.

JWidgets V3.0 is here!

JWidgets 3.0 is a library of JavaBeans components that supports the JDK 1.1. Besides making JWidgets a JavaBeans library, we've added functionality to almost every widget. Here are just a few of the improvements you'll find in JWidgets 3.0:

• All of the widgets fully support the JavaBeans delegation event model, and with our popular CellGrid widget, you can even register Cell, Column, and Row listeners.
• Each widget is now serializable, and we've added a class that lets you choose from among three methods to serialize images.
• It's easier to access the methods and properties of a widget now, with custom property editors and the JavaBean property sheets that make the powerful new interfaces more intuitive.
• The new Slider widget lets your end-users set a continuous value function interactively.
• New customizers for the TabbedPanel and TreeControl widgets let you quickly alter their appearance, making internal state changes spanning across multiple properties.
• Pluggable, customizable borders are now available for our bordered components, and we've already provided the most common styles of borders for you.
