SmallCycle
SmallCycleSmallCycle is the next generation of software maintenance and delivery system. SmallCycle provides the capabilities required for managing the ongoing maintenance of software that has either been deployed or is about to be deployed. SmallCycle integrates the functions of a problem management system, a software distribution system and a task based workflow system.
The packaging of a small subset of SmallCycle with your applications all unhandled exceptions that occur in your application. Using standard third party store and forward technology these problem reports are then routed to your development team. The automatic capture of important system information (e.g. stack trace, operating system, software versions etc.) provides your development team with more accurate information, more quickly than would have traditionally been captured during a help desk call. Once problems have entered the system, tasks can be created and allocated to developers to produce fixes. Developers will be notified than new tasks have been allocated to them with an entry in their in-baskets.

Patch DistributionMany of the problems encountered in a runtime image can be fixed by changing just one or two lines of code. Unfortunately, to distribute these fixes to the users means repackaging and shipping the whole image when 99.9% of it is unchanged. SmallCycle allows just the changes to be extracted into a small patch that is then distributed to the end user and is dynamically bound to the existing runtime image. |
