Terminal 9000 for the Nokia Communicator

Introduction

Terminal 9000 allows you to connect a 9000, 9000I, 9110 or 9110I to any RS232 serial device using either cable or Infra-red. You can test it by plugging into a spare serial port on your PC and running Terminal or Hyperterminal on the PC.

If you want to connect to something that is designed to plug into a PC you will need a null modem adapter or a special cable.

Installation

Terminal 9000 is supplied on a floppy disk or can be downloaded from the internet. There are 2 stages to the installation.

    1. Unpack the files. On your PC run SETUP.EXE from the floppy disk or the directory to which you downloaded it. Setup will ask you where to put the files. The default is c:\nserver.
    2. Install to the communicator using NSERVER that came with your communicator. Choose "Terminal 9000" to install. If you don’t know how to use NSERVER, details are in the manual that came with your communicator.

Registration

Terminal 9000 is supplied as a 10 day trial. During this period you will see a "nag" screen warning you that your copy is not registered. If you have purchased the product, you need to purchase a licence to get the registration number which will be unique to your communicator.
You can purchase a licence from http://www.autopage.ltd.uk. After giving your credit card details send an email to Term9K@autopage.ltd.uk containing the serial number of your communicator and we will send your registration key by return.
Select More then Register. You should see two lines of text. On the top line is the number that you must give us to identify your communicator. We will give you a number to type in on the second line instead of No Key. Enter this number then press close. If the number is correct you will see that the Register button has been "greyed out."
