  • libjpeg-progs added. These are various tools for manipulating JPEGs.

4th January 2003
(terminal/test)
  • nap added. Curses-based Napster client.

  • netcat added. TCP/IP swiss army knife.

18th December 2002
(terminal)
  • less added. less is a terminal pager, to view textfiles with.

(terminal/test)
  • minicom added. minicom is a serial terminal program, like Connector. There are issues with serial port handling to be fixed in UnixLib before this will work correctly.

(chox11/test)
  • knews added. knews is an X-based news reader. Demo of Chox11 functionality.

(cli)
  • m4 added. m4 is a GNU macro processor.

17th December 2002
(terminal)
  • ircii-pana added. Also known as BitchX, a popular Unix IRC client.

(cli)
  • bogomips added. This is a simple benchmark program.

(x11/test)
  • bochs added. This probably doesn't work properly yet. Bochs is a PC emulator, capable of running Windows or Linux.
  • soundtracker added. This won't work until threading is properly supported. Soundtracker is an X-based "tracker" editor.

16th December 2002
  • The autobuilt directory has been removed from the downloads section. Autobuilt programs are now placed directly into their categorised directory.

(cli)
  • macutils added. These are a variety of CLI utilities for handling Mac files.

9th December 2002
(terminal/test)
  • mutt added. This has various issues, and probably can't send mail sensibly. Mutt is a popular terminal-based mail program.

8th December 2002
iyonix ok

Iyonix Ok logo added to downloads for programs which have been tested on Iyonix. Other programs may or or may not work on Iyonix.

3rd December 2002
(test/cli)
  • rsync added. This is completely untested.

28th November 2002
(test/cli)
(cli)
  • New version of ImageMagick - updated to 5.5.1.6 and 32 bit.
27th November 2002

The website has been substantially rearranged to make the infomation clearer including:

25th November 2002
(x11)
  • Another version of links - this version is graphical and runs under X.
  • Added 32bit: Freeciv, updated to 1.13.0

24th November 2002
(x11)
  • Added 32bit: dillo, now autobuilt

(terminal)
  • Added 32bit: openssh, and updated to version 3.5

23rd November 2002
  • bash added to autobuilder. This has a lot of problems, and is for interest value only.

(cli)
  • Added 32bit: file, whois

(terminal)
  • Added 32bit: lynx, nano, ncftp

22st November 2002
(cli/test)
  • Added mkisofs

  • Elinks added to autobuilder (experimental version of links)

21st November 2002
  • 32-bit version of UnixHome

13th November 2002
(cli)
  • 32-bit version of wget uploaded.

(terminal)
  • 32-bit version of links uploaded.

11th November 2002
  • Updated system.zip. This contains SharedUnixLibrary 1.02, which is 32-bit and is required for any new software.

15th October 2002
  • The CD contents have been updated. Along with the full contents of the website, CDs will also contain two versions of GCC - one is the current release, dated December 2001. The second is a bleeding edge one based upon my developments. This version produces 32-bit code by default. See the main page for details on obtaining CDs.

  • And they've been updated again. The CD now also includes RiscX, to make the CD complete.

  • All programs are now built as 32-bit compatible applications, with the newly 32-bitted UnixLib. This has two temporary implications: Some programs may be unstable as I resolve changes that were made in order to be 32-bit comaptible; secondly, programs will not be ARM3 compatible until that support is put back in.

The long term implication is that programs will be compatible from RISC OS 3.1 to Select, and on any new machines that support running programs in 32-bit mode.

3rd October 2002
(autobuilt)

20th September 2002
  • Printable Order Forms are now available. See main page.

11th September 2002
