The Solaris 8 operating environment includes kernel support for the PIM protocol as described in RFC 2362. The Solaris 8 operating environment does not include the routing daemons, but for those users who want to use Solaris 8 operating environment to route their multicast network traffic, implementations of the PIM protocol (both Sparse and Dense mode) may be found at http://netweb.usc.edu/pim.
