Geneva Installation

Geneva is a multitasking environment for classic Atari ST/TT/Falcon computers
and emulators. This version was complied and tested on Hatari 2.0.0 in TT
emulation mode: 32 MHz, 8 Mb RAM, TOS 3.06, using a GEMDOS emulated hard disk.

To install it, tell your emulator to use Disk A in the A: drive and Disk B in
the B: drive. If you are using actual Atari hardware, you will likely have to
burn the two disk images onto floppies.

If you plan to use NeoDesk with Geneva, it is best to do the NeoDesk
installation first. That way, the Geneva installer will set NeoDesk to launch
automatically using the correct method.

On the Geneva Disk A, run INSTALL.PRG. It will ask you some configuration
questions and then copy the files to the necessary locations, prompting you to
swap floppies if needed.

While Geneva can be run from the built-in GEM desktop, it is more commonly set
to run by inclusion in the AUTO folder. Note that the JARxxx.PRG must also be
present there in this case, however order is not important as Geneva will run
JARxxx there if it is present and has not already been run.

If you do not want Geneva to start automatically upon reboot, you can also
run GENEVA.PRG manually from the built-in desktop. In this mode, it is even
possible to quit back to the built-in desktop.

If you are not using a desktop or other automatically-executed program with
Geneva, you will be presented with a rather bare looking Geneva menu bar. In
the File menu, Open will allow you to launch a program (or desktop) of your
choice.

Geneva includes extensive online help, which can be found in the Options menu,
under Help. Once the help viewer opens, browse the Index in the Topic menu.
