The full documentation of the LaceScan package is available in two forms:

1: Structured hypertext consisting of two files:

        DOCUMENT\LACESCAN.HYP the actual hypertext
DOCUMENT\LACESCAN.REF reference links for the hypertext

2: ASCII source text for the abovementioned hypertext, plus image file:

DOCUMENT\LACESCAN.STG ASCII source of the hypertext
DOCUMENT\AUTOLACE.IMG IMG file of the overscan circuit

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you are familiar with ST-Guide you already know what to do...,
so you can leave this READ_ME at once and get on with the real stuff.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you are not familiar with ST-Guide you should do the following:

1: Read through the entire text of LACESCAN.STG

2: Study the circuit schematic in AUTOLACE.IMG

3: Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you feel confident of installing LaceScan

4: Install the LaceScan hardware and software, and start using it.

5: Get hold of a copy of the "ST-Guide" software package by Holger Weets,
which is available from every well-stocked BBS.

6: Install and familiarize yourself with ST-Guide, so you won't have to
bother with unstructured ASCII documentation in the future.

Obviously, steps 5 and 6 above are completely optional since no part of the
LaceScan software (or hardware) is in any way dependent on having ST-Guide.

I strongly recommend that you do install ST-Guide even so, and that you also
use its hypertext format if/when you produce documentation of your own.
The hypertext format of ST-Guide has established itself as a rapidly growing
(and much needed) standard for hypertext use on Atari systems.
