 FOLDxxxx.PRG

This is a small program I found on a disk somewhere. It has the
ability to extend the amount of folders that can be opened/closed
before the internal GEMDOS memory allocation bug appears.
In the "Ultimate Virus Killer", this bug manifests itself by
causing a crash during the link virus search at various places.
This happens when GEMDOS's internal memory has been depleted.
You can rename the program to anything from FOLD100.PRG to
FOLD9999.PRG to extend the internal GEMDOS memory pool. Do note
that the program does not fix the bug; it merely makes sure it
happens much later.
This program may not be necessary with recent TOS versions (like
Falcon TOS 4.xx) or alternatives like "Geneva". I myself use TOS
4.04 and "Geneva" and I've never encountered the crash myself
(hence the difficult in fixing it!).

To use FOLDxxxx.PRG, simply rename it to the proper amount of
folders you want to be able to open (do note that the larger the
number the more memory you lose, though I believe it's 32 bytes
per folder or something) and then copy it to the \AUTO\ folder in
your boot drive (usually drive A or drive C, the latter in the
case of an auto-booting hard disk).

I did not write the program myself; it's a Public Domain program
written by Atari, I believe.
