Please take a few moments to read the following information concerning your distribution kit. This package contains the DEC TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Version 3.3 software and user documentation. Please check the Bill of Materials to see that all items listed are in your distribution kit. If any item is missing or damaged, contact your Digital representative. Product Licenses The DEC TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS product offers two licenses: o DEC TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS server license provides all the software components. o DEC TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS client license provides the same software components except: Remote Boot Server (BOOTP), BIND Server, NFS Server, and PC-NFS Server. You receive the complete documentation set with either license. You can upgrade from the client license to the server license at any time. Contact your Digital representative for information. New Features The DEC TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Release Notes Version 3.3 discusses the new features of this release. Installing DEC TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS To install this product, use the appropriate command: Consolidated Software Distribution on Compact Disc (CD) o If you have the DEC TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS VAX software, issue: $ @VMSINSTAL UCX033 - _$ disc-drive:[UCX033.KITS] OPTIONS N o If you have the DEC TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS AXP software, issue: $ @VMSINSTAL ALPHA_UCX033 - _$ disc-drive:[ALPHA_UCX033.KITS] OPTIONS N The following applies to both command lines: disc-drive is the drive where the CD with the UCX save sets is mounted. OPTIONS N prompts you about displaying and printing the Release Notes. TK50 Cartridge or 9-Track Magnetic Tape (VAX only) Enter the following command: $ @VMSINSTAL UCX033 ddcu: OPTIONS N where: ddcu is the device where you mounted the cartridge or tape. The fields mean: dd - device name c - controller name u - unit number OPTIONS N prompts you about displaying and printing the Release Notes. Release Notes Location After installation, the Release Notes are located in SYS$HELP:UCX033.RELEASE_NOTES. For complete documentation, see the documentation CD you receive with DEC TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Version 3.3. Except for the Release Notes, this documentation set is the same as the Version 3.2 set.
