Q.  What is PATHWORKS for Windows NT?

	  PATHWORKS is a family of PC networking products, consisting of client
	  software for your PC and server software for a variety of server
	  platforms. PATHWORKS creates a networking environment in which
	  multivendor PCs, different communications protocols and networks,
	  and different applications are integrated.

	  PATHWORKS for Windows NT is a member of the PATHWORKS family of
	  PC networking and network operating system integration software. It
	  expands the integration and interoperability of Windows NT systems
	  to other leading network operating systems, desktops and departmental
	  systems, enterprise data and applications.

Q.  What are the features and benefits of PATHWORKS for Windows NT? 

	  PATHWORKS for Windows NT enables Windows NT Desktop users to share
	  information and network resources in local and wide area networks
	  with other PATHWORKS clients (Windows, DOS, OS/2, and Macintosh
	  users) and to access other PATHWORKS servers (OpenVMS, ULTRIX,
	  SCO UNIX, OSF/1, and OS/2). Any PATHWORKS client based on
	  LAN Manager can utilize a Windows NT Advanced Server system as a
	  PATHWORKS network server.

	  PATHWORKS for Windows NT also provides:
	
	  - DECnet transport -- including source routing over Token Ring --
	    in addition to TCP/IP and NetBEUI

	  - Integration of DECnet network management support with Windows NT
	    management: DECnet events in Windows NT Event Viewer 

	  - Support for FDDI (via Digital's FDDI EISA card) and asynchronous
	    DECnet (DDCMP) connection in addition to Ethernet and Token Ring

	  - PATHWORKS print services redirect requests over DECnet and TCP/IP 
	    to remote printers from Windows NT server

	  - Tools for developers to write and port custom applications
    	    (PATHWORKS socket Library and DNETLIB Library are DLLs; XTI
	    socket interface library is a static library; PATHWORKS for
	    Windows NT supplies a helper DLL for WINSOCK DECnet support)

	  - DECnet support for WinSock, NetBIOS, LAN Manager, DCE Remote 
	    Procedure Call APIs (so that applications using Windows NT APIs
	    can work on DECnet networks)

Q.  How will PATHWORKS for Windows NT be packaged?

	  PATHWORKS for Windows NT will be available in one kit and will run
	  on either the Windows NT desktop system or Windows NT Advanced
	  Server system.  PATHWORKS will integrate either type of system
	  into the enterprise-wide network.

Q.  What are the transports supported by PATHWORKS for Windows NT?

	  PATHWORKS for Windows NT permits DECnet, TCP/IP, and NetBEUI 
	  transports to be installed simultaneously on a PC. PATHWORKS
          for Windows NT fully supports the TCP/IP and NetBEUI transports 
	  that are provided by the Windows NT operating system. 

Q.  Can my current PATHWORKS for DOS/Windows applications run on PATHWORKS
    for Windows NT?

	  Yes, 16-bit applications written for PATHWORKS for DOS can be run
	  in compatibility mode with PATHWORKS for Windows NT.
	  PATHWORKS for Windows NT provides programming support to port
	  those applications to 32-bit as well.
