
			CADRA for WINDOWS(TM) INSTALLATION 
			-----------------------------------


	CADRA for WINDOWS(TM) is a CAD/CAM product that supports the following operating
	environments:

	Windows(TM)-NT based on Intel,
	Windows(TM)-NT based on DEC's Alpha,
	Windows(TM) 3.1 with Win32S shell installed,

	Minimum hardware requirements for Intel-based PC's:
	---------------------------------------------------
	Intel 386 with a math coprocessor (486 recommended)
	memory: 8MB for Windows(TM) 3.1; 16MB for Windows(TM)-NT
	disk space: 13MB
	Windows(TM) swap file setting: 16MB (swap file can be temporary) 
	
	
	INSTALLATION MEDIA
	------------------
	1). CDROM media
		Under directory 'CADRA' there are two subdirectories: 'ALPHA' and 'INTEL'
		To install CADRA for WINDOWS(TM) for INTEL from CDROM, 
		change to directory CADRA\INTEL and run 'setup.exe'.

		To install CADRA for WINDOWS(TM) for ALPHA from CDROM, 
		change to directory CADRA\ALPHA and run 'setup.exe'.
			
	2). Floppy disks
		To install CADRA for WINDOWS(TM) on your system, put disk#1 of your CADRA for
		WINDOWS(TM) installation diskettes in the floppy drive, and execute "setup.exe" 
		file from the file manager.  You can use File/Run command in the menu or just 
		double-click on setup.exe file to start the installation.
	
	INSTALLATION PROCESS
	--------------------
	There are three options for CADRA for WINDOWS(TM) installation:
	
	1. Express Installation: 
		It is used to install CADRA locally on your system or server, and provides 
		a standard installation with minimal user interaction.  Express Installation 
		is recommended for standard CADRA installation.

	2. Custom Installation: 

		It is used to install CADRA locally on your system or server, and provides 
		options for complete/incomplete installation as well as for internationalization.
		Custom Installation can also be used for repeat installation, e.g. when
		your system parameters or path changes.

	  2.1. Internationalization
		 
		For internationalization, the following options are available:
		1. North American 
		2. German
		3. French
		4. Japanese
		5. Korean
		6. Custom
		
		North American setting is the default.  Selecting other options will
		result in region-specific settings for keyboard, profile and font.
		Selecting the 'German' option (#2) will enable the user to further choose among
		Austrian, Standard and Swiss DIN keyboard options.
		
		CADRA for Windows(TM) can be configured for use with CADAM DIRECT translation.
		Default setting is 'NO' (Do NOT configure for use with CADAM DIRECT).

		Internationalization option #6 (Custom) will enable the user to supply user-defined
		CADRA keyboard, profile and font files.  Where standard option is desired (e.g.
		for CADRA font file) the field should be left blank.
	

	  2.2. Repeat Installation	
		
		For repeat installation, the following parameters can be changed:
		monitor size, mouse configuration and all internatiolization options.
		Also, additional options such as 'Demo' files and 'Kanji' can be installed.
		To change any of these parameters, do not install 'Program Files' (leave
		'Program Files' check box unchecked by clicking on it with the mouse).
		Using the mouse, click on the radio buttons and/or check boxes of the 
		desired options and proceed with repeat installation.   
				  		
		 

	3. Network Access: 

		This option is used to access CADRA on the network from your local system, and 
		creates only initialization file CADRA.INI in your local Windows directory.


	
	At the end of the installation, CADRA group will be created.  CADRA can be run by 
	double-clicking the CADRA icon within the CADRA group.  To configure CADRA for plotting, 
	double-click on CADRAPLT icon in CADRA group.  CADRA.INI file will be created in your windows 
	directory, and it will contain proper settings for CADRA environment variables.
