Courseware Information
=========================================

------------------------------------
Large Fonts vs. Small Fonts
------------------------------------
Administering Microsoft Windows NT CBT (NTCBT.EXE) is designed to run on
a display monitor with a resolution of 640x480 and 16 colors. If you are
using resolutions higher than 640x480, you must use a driver that supports
small fonts to be able to read all of the screen text.

To install a display driver on your computer:
1. Click the Windows Setup icon in the Main program group.
2. Open the Options menu.
3. Choose Change System Settings.
4. From the Display list box, choose the appropriate small font
   display driver.
5. Restart Windows for the change to take effect.

------------------------------------
Screen Resolution
------------------------------------
NTCBT is designed to be run on a standard VGA monitor at 640x480
resolution. You can run the software at resolutions greater than 640x480;
however, the NTCBT window appears at 640 pixels x 480 pixels.

------------------------------------
NTCBT.INI File
------------------------------------
Disk 1: Setup puts a file called NTCBT.INI in your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM
directory. The NTCBT.INI file tells NTCBT.EXE where to find its components.
If you move NTCBT.EXE to another directory, you must change the settings
in the NTCBT.INI file. The default settings are as follows:

[NTCBT]
Path=C:\NTCBT ; Full path where NTCBT is located. Change this
; line if you moved NTCBT to another directory
		   ; after installation.
DB_Name=NTCBT.MDB ; Name of the NTCBT database. You never need to
		   ; change this setting.

------------------------------------
Performance on 386 Computers
------------------------------------
NTCBT will run on a 386 computer; however, its performance is significantly
improved when run on a 486.

------------------------------------
Technical Problems
------------------------------------
If you experience problems with installing or running NTCBT, contact the
Microsoft Authorized Education Reseller where you purchased the product.

------------------------------------
Usernames and Passwords
------------------------------------
Each person using the courseware needs to select a unique username
and password. This allows multiple users to take the CBT course on a
single computer. If you forget your username or password, simply choose
a new username and a new password.

------------------------------------
File List
------------------------------------
The following files are used by NTCBT.

File Purpose
---- -------
NTCBT.EXE	Main executable file for NTCBT courseware
NTCBT.INI	Path information for NTCBT
NTCBT.MDB	Courseware database
NTANSWER.MVB	Online version of the Windows NT Answer Book
*.AVI Files that contain course graphics in the Video
		for Windows format
*.BMP Files that contain graphics in Windows bitmap format
*.ICO Icons used in NTCBT

------------------------------------
Lesson and Course Status
------------------------------------
NTCBT keeps track of the time you spend taking each lesson and the time
since you've started the course. Lesson status is shown when you
choose the Status button while taking a lesson. Course status is shown
when you choose the Status button while viewing the main screen. Time is
accumulated while you are using the courseware; however, time is not
accumulated when you are using the Help system or Windows NT Answer
Book.

------------------------------------
Windows NT Answer Book
------------------------------------
The Windows NT Answer Book is used to provide context-sensitive Help
while you are using NTCBT. However, the Windows NT Answer Book is also a
stand-alone application. If you want to remove NTCBT from your hard disk
drive, you can still leave the Windows NT Answer Book on your system.

To remove the CBT course and retain the Windows NT Answer Book:
1. Delete all of the files in C:\NTCBT (or in whichever directory you
   installed NTCBT) except for NTANSWER.MVB.
2. Do not remove any files that NTCBT installed in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM
   directory during setup.
3. Remove the Administering MS Windows NT icon from the NTCBT program
   group.
