SYMPTOMS
========

In Microsoft Works for the Macintosh, when you paste text strings into a
database field, the text may be broken into several smaller strings and
pasted into several database field cells or records.

WORKAROUND
==========

To correctly paste long text strings into database fields:

1. Highlight the text string, and choose Copy from the Edit menu.

2. Select the field cell where you want to paste the text string.

3. Click the formula bar so that the cursor appears in the formula
   bar.

4. From the Edit menu, choose Paste.

MORE INFORMATION
================

The copied text string will fall into different fields or record cells,
depending on the way it is formatted. Tabs and double spaces between text
will force the text into new fields. Carriage returns will force text into
new records.
