SUMMARY
=======

When you use the MergePRD utility to add TrueType fonts to an existing
printer driver, MergePRD may delete the printer driver (.PRD) file and
the resulting .PRF file from your disk. This happens if your hard disk
or floppy disk does not have enough space available to store the
resulting files. The MergePRD utility displays no error messages. In
fact, MergePRD reports that the merge was successful.

Similarly, if you use MergePRD to create a new printer driver based on
non-TrueType fonts that you select from existing .PRD files, your
computer hangs (stops responding) if there is insufficient disk space
for the new .PRD file. You must restart (warm boot) your computer by
pressing the Reset button on the computer or by pressing
CTRL+ALT+DEL.

We are researching this problem and will post new information here in
the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

Workaround
----------

Before using the MergePRD utility, make sure you have at least 100K
available disk space.
