SUMMARY
=======

An updated Print Ranges macro is now available as part of the
Microsoft application note titled "Frequently Requested WordBasic
Macros for Word for Windows 2.0" (WD0523). This application note is
available from the Microsoft Download Service (MSDL) and CompuServe.

The PrintRanges macro adds options to the FilePrint dialog so that you
can print odd and/or even pages and non contiguous ranges of pages. If
you are experiencing problems with any of the previous versions of
PrintRanges, you should obtain the new PrintRanges macro from one of
the sources listed above.

To download the application note from CompuServe, do the following:

1. Type "GO MSWORD" (without the quotation marks) to go to the
   Microsoft Word forum.

2. Type "Lib 2" to change to library 2 (Files from PSS).

3. Type the filename that you want to download (WBSAMP.EXE).

MORE INFORMATION
================

The earlier version of the macro to print odd, even, or noncontiguous
pages was included with versions 2.0b and 2.0c of Word for Windows. To
locate this macro, open the PSS.DOC document from the Word for Windows
program directory and choose the Run button next to PrintRanges.

Known Problems in Earlier Versions of the PrintRanges Macro
-----------------------------------------------------------

1. When you select the All Odd Pages option button, the All Even
   Pages option button is selected instead (versions 2.0b and 2.0c).

2. If you select the All Odd Pages or All Even Pages option button
   and your page numbers start at a number greater than 2, an
   incorrect number of pages may print, or no pages may print
   (version 2.0b).

3. If you select the Print To File check box in the Print dialog
   box, and choose to print all odd, even, or a range of pages, Word
   for Windows prompts you for a filename for each page that
   prints. This problem is caused by the functionality of the File
   Print command and is not a problem with the PrintRanges macro
   (versions 2.0b and 2.0c).

   The new PrintRanges macro will pop up an error message when
   trying to print to file when printing odd, even, or a range of
   pages, informing the user that printing to file with these
   options chosen is not allowed.
