SUMMARY
=======

When you print a Word for MS-DOS document on a Hewlett-Packard (HP)
LaserJet Series II printer, the diamond bullet character may not print
correctly. Instead of a bullet, a cross-hatched pattern prints that
looks like the greater than (>) and less than (<) characters
superimposed on one another. This happens if the diamond bullet
character is formatted for the internal Courier or Linedraw font
because these fonts do not contain the symbol set that includes the
diamond bullet character.

The diamond bullet character prints correctly when you format it for a
non-printer-resident font. This character prints correctly on an HP
LaserJet Series III printer, even when you format the character for a
printer-resident font.

Workaround
----------

Using the MergePRD utility or the Word Setup program, add TrueType
font support to your HP LaserJet Series II printer driver. All
TrueType fonts print the diamond bullet character correctly.
