You can count the number of rows (records) in a table (or selected
portion of a table) in Word by using the Word Count feature:

1. Select the entire table (hold down the OPTION key and double-click
the table) or the specific rows that are to be counted.

2. From the Tools menu (the Utilities menu in version 4.0), choose
   Word Count.

3. Select the Lines check box and choose Count.

The number of rows in your table (selection) will now appear to the
right of "Lines" under the "Main Text" heading.
