SUMMARY
=======

When you open a PowerPoint for the Macintosh file in PowerPoint for
Windows, you may see the following message:

   Sorry, no pictures were converted. The picture converter was not
   found.

This error occurs when the graphics filter that PowerPoint uses to
convert Macintosh PICT graphics to Windows format is missing or
corrupt. The filter file is PICTIMP.FLT and it is located in the
WINDOWS\MSAPPS\GRPHFLT directory.

MORE INFORMATION
================

To troubleshoot this problem, do the following:

1. Confirm that you have PowerPoint 3.0 on both the Macintosh and
   Windows platforms.

2. Try to translate the file using Apple File Exchange and confirm that
   the default conversion format is to convert the file to a
   MS-DOS-readable disk.

3. Look for the filter file in the GRPHFLT directory.

4. If the file is missing, install it by running PowerPoint Setup
   and choosing Custom Setup. In Custom Setup, clear all of the check
   boxes except Graphics Filters. Then, from the same line, choose
   Options.

5. From the list of filters, select Macintosh PICT. Choose OK. Then
   choose Install Now.

6. If the PICTIMP.FLT file is present, it is probably corrupt. Rename it
   and reinstall as described in steps 4 and 5 above.
