The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft Windows Telephony Software Development Kit (SDK) version
   1.0 for Windows version 3.1
---------------------------------------------------------------------

The Windows Telephony application programming interface (TAPI) enables an
application developer to add elements of telephony to his or her Windows
3.1 application. The Windows Telephony services are provided as a Windows
Open Services Architecture (WOSA) component. Telephony refers to telephone
call management, which includes the establishment and control of a call.
This control is orthogonal to the information stream of the call.
TAPISDK is a file in the Software Library that contains version 1.0 of the
Telephony SDK. TAPISDK is available in the Software Library and can be
found by searching on the word TAPISDK, the Q number of this article, or
S14400. TAPISDK was archived using the PKware file-compression utility.
TAPISDK is also available on the Internet via an anonymous remote ftp site
at ftp.microsoft.com in the \DEVTOOLS\TAPI directory, and on CompuServe in
the TAPI SDK library of the WinExt forum.
