SUMMARY
=======

AppleEvents are commands that allow you to control features of one
program within another program. For example, you can have a database
program automatically send data to a spreadsheet program and then have
the spreadsheet program return a chart to the database program.

MORE INFORMATION
================

Works for the Macintosh supports the four events required by
Apple to qualify it as a System 7.0-friendly application.
Works does not support the entire list of Apple core events.

A System 7.0-friendly application must support the following
Apple-required core events (the required events list is a subset of
the core events list):

   Apple Required Event         Requested Action
   ---------------------------------------------------------

   Open application             Perform tasks associated
                                with opening an application

   Open documents Open the specified documents

   Print documents Print the specified documents

   Quit application Perform tasks (such as
                                releasing memory, requesting
                                you to save documents, and
                                so on) associated with
                                quitting an application.
                                When appropriate, the Finder
                                sends this event to an
                                application immediately
                                after sending a Print
                                Documents event, or when you
                                choose Restart or Shut Down
                                from the Special menu in
                                Finder.

System 7.0 is manufactured by Apple Computer, Inc., a vendor
