SYMPTOMS
========

A blank space may result when you use the Paste Link/Paste Special
command to link information into a file (the destination). This
problem may occur if the name of the source document of the copied
information begins with a number (for example, 1TEST or 8TH TEST
CASE). Typically, the first Paste Link/Paste Special command will work
as expected but subsequent links will fail.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for the Macintosh
versions 5.0, and 5.1. This problem was corrected in Word for the Macintosh
version 6.0.

WORKAROUND
==========

To avoid this problem, rename the document so that the filename does
not begin with a number. Subsequent copy-paste links using the renamed
document will work correctly.
