SYMPTOMS
========

The Border command on the Format menu is unavailable (dimmed) if you
create a table, delete the last cell in the top or bottom row, and
then select the last column using the Select Column command on the
Table menu.

The Border command remains available:

 - If you do not select the end-of-cell marker for the row in which you
   deleted a cell.

   -or-

 - If you delete cells from rows other than the top or bottom row or
   from columns other than the last column.

WORKAROUNDS
===========

 - Do not use the Select Column command or the right mouse button to
   select such columns when you want to apply border formatting.
   Instead, use the mouse or keyboard to select the cells in the
   column.

   -or-

 - Select the column manually with the mouse. Do not select the
   end-of-cell marker for the shorter row.
