SUMMARY

Easy Open, a file opening and conversion extension that installs with
Access PC 3.0, will not recognize Microsoft Works 3.0 or 4.0 files. Easy
Open will recognize Works 4.0a files.

Easy Open and Access PC are manufactured by Insignia Solutions.
 
Easy Open does recognize Microsoft Word files. Works Word Processor
files can be converted to Microsoft Word format using the following
procedure:
 
1. Open the Works Word Processor file.
 
2. From the File menu, choose Save As.
 
3. Change the name of the document in the Save Document As box.
 
4. Select Word 4.0, 5.0.
 
5. Choose Save.
 
The resulting file will be recognized by Easy Open. Easy Open will
also recognize RTF and Text formats. To use one of these formats,
simply substitute it in place of Word 4.0, 5.0 in step 4 above.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works versions 3.0 and 4.0.
This problem was corrected in Works version 4.0a.
