SYMPTOMS

A box created using Word's formula typesetting commands does not
display or print correctly. The problem occurs with a full box or with
a box set so only the top and/or bottom edges appear.

CAUSE

The box formula does not display correctly if the boxed text in the
formula contains a right-aligned tab set further than 2.5 inches to
the right of the start of the formula.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for the
Macintosh. We are researching this problem and will post new
information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes
available.

WORKAROUNDS
===========

 - Change the right-aligned tab to a left-aligned tab and adjust it as
   needed to produce the desired appearance.

   -or-

 - Use an alternate technique, such as underlines, tables, or borders,
   to achieve the same visual effect offered by the box formula.
