   The false link error "symbol defined more than once" is generated
when an object module has an external reference to a function that is
never used.

   A workaround is to remove the external statement for the unused
function.
   Microsoft confirmed this to be a problem in Version 3.30 of the
FORTRAN compiler. This problem was corrected in Version 3.31.
