Introduction
------------
This Application Note includes the corrected Communications module
screen driver, COMM.SCD, and instructions for installing it. In some
cases, the Break command does not work in the Works 3.0 Communications
module; this COMM.SCD file corrects this problem. To successfully
issue a Break command, do the following:
1. Install the new COMM.SCD driver, dated 9-17-93, from the disk
included with this Application Note. (See the installation
   instructions.)
2. Restart Works 3.0, open a Communications document, and connect to
an electronic communications service or remote computer.
3. From the Connect menu, choose Break.
NOTE: Different communications services and remote computers
respond differently (or not at all) to a break signal. The break
signal alerts the remote computer that something out of the
ordinary is occurring. However, it is up to that remote computer to
determine its response upon receiving a break signal.
Some remote systems will stop the currently running program and
return to a system level prompt. Some will drop the connection if
the break signal is too long. Other systems will ignore the break
signal completely. Therefore, if the Break command doesn't appear
to work after installing the new COMM.SCD driver, try it again
after connecting to a different remote system.

Installation Instructions
-------------------------
1. Insert the enclosed DK0968 disk in your floppy disk drive.
2. At the MS-DOS command prompt, type the following and press ENTER
      copy <drive>:\*.* <destination>
where <drive> is the floppy disk drive containing the DK0968 disk
and <destination> is the drive and directory where your Works
program resides. For example, if Works is located in the WORKS
directory on drive C, and the DK0968 disk is in drive A, type the
   following command and press ENTER:
      copy a:\*.* c:\works
This copies the contents of the DK0968 disk to your Works
   directory.
If you have MS-DOS version 6.2 or later, the following message may
   appear:
      Overwrite COMM.SCD (Yes/No/All)?
If this message appears, type "Y" and press ENTER.
You should now be able to issue the Break command successfully.
